What swell period actually changes

Swell period tells you how much time passes between waves, but in practice it also hints at how organized and powerful the arriving energy may feel. On the Galician coast, a longer-period swell can produce more push and cleaner sets than a shorter-period swell of similar height, especially where the seabed helps focus that energy into a breaking zone.
