Atalaia was made at home, in Ferrolterra, at the point where mathematics meets 40+ years of experience surfing across the world. One head translates buoys, models and data series; the other knows what that number does when it passes under your board. Other services publish a 1 to 10 surf rating; we don't. We show the numbers behind that rating (height, period, direction, wind, tide) and explain them, no verdict adjective at the end.

We built Marea for ourselves. With the sliver of time family life leaves for surf, we want to be at the right place at the right time. Otherwise, we don't surf. It worked so well for us that we decided to open it up so others can benefit too. See you in the water. Be kind to each other.
